Friday Thoughts 50 - A shortie

Writer's picture: EAWEAW

Well, these are the penultimate Friday Thoughts of this year!

I’ll be totally honest and my head is so full that I’m not sure what my thoughts are at the moment. So I will be uber-quick. The one thing I am focussing on (apart from getting to next Friday) is being able to celebrate all of this year’s wonderful successes as showcased through the PDR process. I have had fascinating, open and honest conversation with a whole range of people, some of whom I began the process with back in T1 and others who I am only now meeting with.

It has been another crazy busy week in school generally this week, however it has been particularly busy in Y6. Their final production performance was on Tuesday and it was their graduation today. As predicted, it was a tear-jerker and the team did a fabulous job of celebrating the children’s successes. Apart from a couple of technical glitches, which the children sailed through like true professionals, it was smooth and brilliantly executed. Many happy children and many happy parents. I turned, once again, to my trusty book for my speech and I would like to share just one ‘thought’ with you as we look to the final week of the year which sometimes feels like it is going to be unending.

“We have such a long way to go.” Sighed the boy.

“Yes, but look at how far we’ve come.” Said the horse.

That is what I have to keep reminding myself. The school is not yet where I believe it can be, however we have done so much and I have to tame my inner perfectionist come self-flagellator and just take stock of our so many achievements.

After these few days of glorious weather, it looks like it’s going to be raining for the Performing Arts event tomorrow, which is a shame. However, I am sure that a bit of rain isn’t going to deter our amazing performers and I’m looking forward to another wonderful showcase of talent.

For those of you who are curious about my music today, it’s YouTube and a nicely chilled Indie/Indie-Folk Compilation - Spring 2021.

Happy Friday everyone!
